About the position

This position is for a leadership role within the accounting team of a fifth-generation family-owned precision metals manufacturer, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2024. The company has a strong presence in both the U.S. and Germany and is known for its diverse product line, including tubing, extruded shapes, and cold-drawn shapes made from specialty materials such as carbon, alloy, stainless steel, nickel alloy, and titanium. The role involves overseeing corporate accounting functions, financial reporting, cash management, and shareholder communication. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO to evaluate insurance coverage for risk management and ensure tax compliance in collaboration with third-party professionals. Additionally, the position requires providing necessary financial and operating information to the organization, analyzing consolidated financial results from domestic and international divisions, and managing bank relationships and cash projections. The role also includes recommending and implementing cost reduction programs, maintaining internal controls, and leading special projects, including M&A due diligence. Addressing shareholder issues promptly and effectively is also a key responsibility of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting team in corporate accounting functions.
  • Oversee financial reporting and cash management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in accounting.
  • CPA certification is required; MBA is preferred.
  • Background in manufacturing or audit experience is beneficial.
  • Previous supervisory experience is necessary.
  • Familiarity with corporate accounting for multiple entities and Sub-Chapter S Tax work is advantageous.
