About the position

The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations within the organization, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, cash management, and inventory control across multiple operating entities. This role involves direct management of accounting staff at the Corona location and indirect management of financial accounting staff in various locations. The Corporate Controller ensures compliance with financial regulations, assists in corporate financial decisions, and interacts with independent auditors for year-end audits and tax compliance. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and document business processes to maintain internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, G/L, Payroll, Cash management, standard costing system and inventory control for multiple operating entities.
  • Directly manage accounting staff in the Corona, CA location and indirectly manage financial accounting staff in multiple other locations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
  • Assist with corporate financial decisions and conduct financial analyses as needed.
  • Support month-end and year-end processes.
  • Interact directly with independent auditors for year-end audits and tax compliance preparation.
  • Manage outside auditors for various tax compliance matters.
  • Consolidate quarterly financial reporting for bank compliance.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Provide executives with necessary financial information for policy decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Corporate Controller.
  • 5+ years of overall combined financial and cost accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • Post graduate degree or certificate required (MBA, CPA, CMA, etc.).
  • True management experience and relationship/team building skills required.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

Nice-to-haves

  • International accounting experience preferred.
  • Cost accounting experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
