About the position

The Corporate Counsel for Last Mile Legal at Amazon will support all aspects of the insurance and claims program for the company's logistics and transportation operations. This role involves advising on the development and launch of insurance products, supporting claims administration, analyzing insurance policies, and reviewing contracts. The attorney will work closely with business teams to manage legal and regulatory risks while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the development and launch of insurance products and services for transportation companies and the gig economy.
• Support claims administration, defining legal and regulatory requirements, and developing internal compliance functions.
• Analyze insurance policies and recommend changes or modifications.
• Evaluate internal processes for risk and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including reinsurance agreements and service contracts.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
• 5+ years of legal experience.
• Experience in the insurance and claims industry.
• Knowledge of state and federal insurance laws and regulations.
