About the position

The Data Warehouse Developer II at Glacier Bancorp, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for the design, development, and testing of data warehouse integration, specifically utilizing type-2 slowly changing dimension techniques. The role is corporate and can be based in any of the bank's divisions across eight states, including Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming. The mid-rate salary for this position is $111,574.23 per year, calculated for Missoula, MT, with compensation offers being individually analyzed based on factors such as geographic location, years of experience, and educational background. The Data Warehouse Developer II will spend a significant portion of their time developing and testing Data Warehouse processes, implementing ETL (extract, transform, load) procedures to integrate and validate business data from various systems. This role also involves working closely with business and technical teams to understand and model data analytics needs, providing technical support to reporting and data analysis teams, and advising on industry best practices and evolving technology solutions in data analytics and warehousing. Compliance with company policies and applicable laws is essential, including completing assigned training courses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test Data Warehouse processes to implement ETL procedures for data integration and validation.
  • Collaborate with business, internal technical teams, and vendor solutions teams to model and integrate data analytics needs.
  • Provide technical support to reporting and data analysis teams throughout the organization.
  • Advise on industry best practices and evolving technology solutions in data analytics and data warehousing.
  • Evaluate and test new tools and technologies to enhance the enterprise data toolset.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws, including completing assigned training courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Database Management, or a similar field.
  • 5 years of experience in Data Warehousing (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), ETL (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Data Stage), and data modeling (e.g., Erwin, Rational Rose).
  • 5 years of software development and testing experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with Kimball style dimensional data systems.
  • 3 years of experience extracting data from structured, unstructured, and semi-structured source systems.
  • 3 years of experience delivering data to users or destination systems in both structured and semi-structured formats.
  • 2+ years of experience with development in an Agile environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Data Analytics and Business Intelligence tools such as SSAS/SSRS, QLik, Tableau, Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive knowledge of data normalization.
  • Exposure to cloud-based enterprise data systems (AWS, Azure, Salesforce, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with indexing strategies within a relational database.
  • Familiarity with encryption of data both in motion and at rest.
