About the position

The Director of Total Rewards is a strategic leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive total rewards programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of benefits and compensation practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on enhancing the employee experience and supporting the organization's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees the total rewards strategy, including base pay, incentive compensation, and benefits programs.
  • Conducts market analysis to ensure competitive benefits and compensation packages align with industry standards and organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to design and implement compensation policies and practices that support the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Manages the annual compensation review process, including salary adjustments and incentive compensation.
  • Manages the annual benefits enrollment process, including communication, education, and administration.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local benefits and compensation laws and regulations.
  • Provides guidance and support to HR and management teams on benefits and compensation-related matters.
  • Manages off-cycle pay increases.
  • Provides expertise in establishing and managing pay grades for new and existing jobs.
  • Analyzes benefits and compensation data and trends to make informed recommendations for program enhancements.
  • Leads benefits and compensation-related projects and initiatives, such as job evaluations, salary surveys, pay equity analyses, wellness programs, benefits surveys, and cost analysis.
  • Communicates benefits and compensation programs and policies to employees, ensuring transparency and understanding.
  • Consults with external partners to manage geo-differentials across markets and for hiring remote talent nationwide.
  • Promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in benefits and compensation management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience using Workday or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is a plus.
  • Certified SHRM SCP or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership.
  • Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft suite, especially Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency using Excel is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the senior living or healthcare industry is highly desirable.
