About the position

The Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing Operations at Sage Hospitality Group is responsible for strategically overseeing the sales discipline for a collection of hotels. This role aims to maximize revenues through effective sales and marketing efforts, ensuring the best possible return on investment for owners and equity partners. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive the success of the company's sales initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit leadership competencies that create vision and drive the success of the company's direct sales and marketing efforts.
  • Lead strategic planning, development, and coordination of business initiatives and strategies for the division.
  • Oversee communication to customers related to long-term vision and strategies, ensuring timely communication to all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the development of a strategic sales and marketing approach that follows a standardized process.
  • Monitor and review property business plans and results quarterly, making recommendations based on changing conditions.
  • Provide strategic guidance for Local and Banquet Catering F&B revenues and sales operations.
  • Evaluate, identify, and implement appropriate sales automation for hotel activity.
  • Ensure effective property and corporate systems and reports are in place, maintaining key sales measurements.
  • Execute market studies to support business development needs and participate in client presentations.
  • Assist with forecasting, pace, market share, and margin improvement, developing effective metrics and reporting processes.
  • Participate in Global Sales efforts, including key account visits and industry trade shows.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget and identify opportunities to maximize market share and revenue.
  • Coordinate the completion of group rooms, banquet F&B, and Local F&B goals, approving quarterly and annual goals.
  • Implement succession planning within direct reports to provide new opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Develop a process to identify high potential sales and marketing candidates for future positions.
  • Provide leadership oversight on special projects, transitions, and new property openings.
  • Ensure implementation of Sage SOP's, sales and marketing systems, and controls at new properties.
  • Maintain active company and community relations while participating in corporate activities.

Requirements

  • Four year college degree or equivalent education or experience.
  • 8 - 10 years of related experience in senior sales and marketing roles in a hospitality environment.
  • Field and corporate experience is preferred.
  • Multi-unit oversight experience is preferred.
  • Multi-brand experience is preferred.

  • Experience in strategic sales and marketing in a multi-brand environment.
  • Strong analytical skills for market analysis and forecasting.
