About the position

The Corporate Event and Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing the marketing and communications strategy for Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. This role focuses on managing social media, publications, and websites, as well as organizing employee and client events. The position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with associates, managers, senior leaders, and vendors to ensure effective branding and messaging. The manager will supervise a team of up to five associates and will be involved in various tasks including drafting press releases, coordinating corporate events, and creating content for social media.

Responsibilities

  • Create the corporate events calendar in conjunction with the SVP, Director of Marketing.
  • Manage and implement corporate events, both internal and external.
  • Conduct and report on post-event debriefs and implement adjustments accordingly.
  • Oversee and approve SharePoint campaigns, videos, and postings.
  • Create and implement a 12-month schedule timeline for internal branding.
  • Manage the corporate intranet calendar of events and communications.
  • Work with outside marketing groups to create a 12-month social media schedule.
  • Create drip funnel campaigns for respective practice groups.
  • Draft content for email marketing, schedule campaigns, and interpret analytics.
  • Create, review, and edit content for the company's websites and social media pages.
  • Assist in content writing and creation for corporate communications.
  • Update and manage corporate web properties.
  • Write and promote press releases to outside outlets and media.
  • Oversee online management including Google profiles and Carrier information.
  • Assist with and attend offsite and after-hours events.

Requirements

  • Fluency in MS Office products and experience with both MAC and PC.
  • Experience working at a senior level with C Suite executives.
  • Experience coordinating corporate events, including venue selection and vendor management.
  • Ability to be on-site for events and serve as the main contact for issues during the event.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and initiative.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong editing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and outside normal working hours.
  • Reliable transportation for travel throughout RI, CT, and MA.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Vimeo.
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Hubspot, basic HTML, content writing, basic photography, and Adobe software.
