About the position

The Corporate Finance: Consumer and Community Banking - Financial Controller - Analyst role within the Firmwide Financial Controllers (FFC) team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the firm's financial records and leading significant data, infrastructure, accounting standards, and business process changes. This position plays a crucial role in managing financial data consolidation and enhancing the control environment for accurate financial reporting, which is essential for informed decision-making by management, investors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with line of business controllers, financial control, product controllers, technology, operations, and legal entity controllers.
  • Partner with FFC teams globally.
  • Manage the consolidation of JPMorgan Chase financial data at month-end for their asset class, including support for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities.
  • Engage hands-on in projects, including user acceptance testing and maintaining documentation such as test scripts.
  • Identify process and/or infrastructure enhancements proactively and work with stakeholders to enact change.
  • Control post-closing entries and consolidation adjustments.
  • Perform various control procedures to ensure the integrity of reported financial results.
  • Manage intercompany eliminations, a key component of the financial consolidation process.
  • Enhance the overall control environment around the financial reporting function.
  • Mobilize change wherever possible to simplify processes and enhance controls.

Requirements

  • Basic experience with a financial consolidation and reporting system (i.e. SAP interface).
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • At least 1 year of accounting or industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience).
