About the position

The Corporate Finance Manager at Virgin Hotels plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance and Accounting functions of the hotels while acting as a strategic business partner to the VP of Finance Operations. This position is responsible for optimizing asset value, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and mitigating risks at the properties. The ideal candidate will thrive in agile environments, possess strong analytical skills, and be a cultural ambassador within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the VP, Finance Operations and other Operational Leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements that drive profitability.
  • Review financial reports for properties on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze variances and trends from financial evaluations to maintain accurate financial statements.
  • Support Directors of Finance and on-site accounting teams in preparing financial statements, reconciliations, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Alert the VP, Finance Operations regarding significant variances from budget and internal control standards.
  • Partner with property leadership to optimize forecasting processes and achieve accuracy targets.
  • Initiate process improvements to enhance expense management and profit flow through.
  • Understand cash flow forecasts to ensure compliance with financial obligations and monitor working capital positions.
  • Provide financial leadership for new hotel openings, including budget preparation and working capital funding.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or finance preferred.
  • Previous on-property Finance and/or complex/dual finance experience required.
  • Full-service hotel experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, loan documents, lease agreements, and contracts.
  • Ability to influence all levels of the organization with business acumen.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Aptech Financial Systems, Birchstreet, ADP, Avero, and property HMS & POS systems.
  • Ability to manage internal teammates at all levels of the organization.
