About the position

The Corporate Governance Analyst position at AmeriHome Mortgage is a first-line governance and operational risk role that supports the Corporate Governance team. The successful candidate will engage in strategic governance initiatives, coordinate audits, participate in process improvements, and support control remediation efforts. This role offers exposure to various areas of the residential mortgage business and provides opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support internal audits and regulatory examinations
  • Gain familiarity with core AmeriHome processes and their associated risks and controls
  • Work with managers to document control remediation
  • Coordinate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and provide test evidence
  • Update critical documents and coordinate their review
  • Maintain project planning detail for designated governance initiatives
  • Assist with other analytical, documentation, monitoring, or reporting assignments
  • Support other Governance initiatives as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to coordinate and interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Intellectually curious with a desire to learn about complex business processes
  • Ability to triage critical tasks and adhere to firm deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint & Word)
  • Resourceful in problem solving
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Experience with Visio or LucidChart
  • Knowledge of the residential mortgage industry a plus
  • Relevant experience at a bank or large non-bank financial institution preferred
  • Experience in audit, risk management, or SOX compliance a plus
