Summit Polymers is a leading Tier 1 Automotive Supplier specializing in automotive interior systems, particularly in the engineering, manufacturing, and assembly of injection molded interior trim. The Human Resource Generalist position is a vital role within the corporate HR team, responsible for a variety of HR-related duties that support the overall function of the organization. This role requires close collaboration with management and the HR team to ensure effective implementation of HR programs and policies. As a Human Resource Generalist, the individual will perform essential tasks related to training, reporting, recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, and policy implementation. The position is exempt and reports directly to the Manager of Human Resources. The Generalist will be responsible for administering and executing human resource programs, which include managing compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives. The role also involves maintaining confidential employment records, preparing monthly reports on various HR metrics, and providing administrative support to the HR team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with a focus on driving positive employee relations and engagement programs. They will be expected to handle employment-related inquiries, assist with employee engagement events, and ensure proper utilization of HRIS systems for various HR functions. This position is crucial for maintaining a positive workplace culture and supporting the overall mission of Summit Polymers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain employment records on all employees, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Gather, prepare, and present monthly reporting on headcount, training completion, safety measures, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team.
  • Audit, verify, and adjust time and attendance records for hourly and salary employees as needed.
  • Create advertising and marketing materials using company brand standards.
  • Assist with employee engagement events including luncheons and benefit enrollment.
  • Serve as a resource to employees regarding HR-related policies and procedures.
  • Manage special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Maintain proper HRIS system updates for new hires, terminations, promotions, and other changes.
  • Utilize HRIS system platforms for recruiting, onboarding, performance, talent, and learning management.
  • Drive positive employee relations and engagement programs.
  • Perform other managerial duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, BBA, or related field (preferred).
  • Master's Degree in a related field (preferred).
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification (preferred).
  • Work experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry (preferred).
  • Minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and their functionalities.
