The Corporate & Legal Operations Paralegal plays a crucial role in providing paralegal services, legal operations, and administrative support to the Legal Department of the American Kennel Club. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the department while maintaining a privileged and confidential environment. The paralegal will regularly interface with the Legal Department's internal business clients, facilitating communication and support for various legal processes and documentation. In this role, the paralegal will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including the review and preparation of contracts and legal documents, the organization and maintenance of department files, and the management of department calendars. The paralegal will utilize legal management systems such as High Q and DocuSign to manage contracts, track critical dates, and ensure compliance with contract review policies. This includes acting as a point-of-contact for internal business clients, educating them on system usage, and ensuring that all security protocols are followed. The paralegal will also facilitate the corporate contracts review process, performing initial reviews of contract requests, maintaining records of contract statuses, and assisting attorneys in resolving compliance questions. Additionally, the paralegal will assist in preparing for Trial Boards and Event Committee Appeals, coordinating logistics, and managing communications with Trial Board members. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and time-sensitive materials effectively.
