About the position

Six Flags Entertainment is seeking a Marketing Copywriter to join our corporate office in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position is integral to supporting multiple marketing channels and overseeing brand management and creative design services across the Six Flags portfolio. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Advertising and will work closely with design teams located at Kings Island and Cedar Point. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the creative process, including project prioritization and brand management of work developed by our print/graphic and multimedia design teams. The creative services teams are responsible for delivering a wide range of creative design services for all parks, which includes print materials, event collateral, digital and motion graphics, promotional collateral, sales materials, video content for our in-park/on-property media network, and in-park marketing signage. As the Marketing Copywriter, you will lead the input process for creative briefs and provide direction for new programs and initiatives across the appropriate creative work teams. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between the creative teams and business stakeholders/brand managers, ensuring that all projects align with brand messaging and objectives. In this role, you will be the lead designer responsible for the overall art direction of programs executed by internal teams. You will manage project initiation and coordination across creative services, ensuring brand stewardship and consistency. Your responsibilities will include concepting and providing overarching art direction on larger scale projects, supporting creative brief development, managing work assignments, and overseeing workflow and approvals with the design teams. You will also directly manage a mixed media designer and a copywriter based in Charlotte, ensuring a responsive and seamless process from project inception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead designer responsible for overall art direction of programs executed by internal teams.
  • Manage project initiation and coordination across creative services and team leads.
  • Ensure brand stewardship and consistency/quality filter via management of creative services team.
  • Concept and provide overarching art direction on larger scale projects.
  • Support creative brief development and communication with internal team leads and designers.

  • Directly manage mixed media designer and copywriter in Charlotte.
  • Coordinate and direct creative development across channel owners, serving as the synergistic campaign lead.
  • Assist creative teams in managing and prioritizing workloads.
  • Ensure a responsive, seamless, on-time process from start to finish.
  • Traffic projects through various stages of production, partnering with project stakeholders to help move projects along.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in writing for marketing, advertising, or branding, including blog posts, social media content, ad copy, and email campaigns.
  • Understanding of SEO principles, keyword research, and how to optimize content for search engines.
  • Ability to write engaging, clear, and persuasive copy that aligns with brand messaging.
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail to ensure error-free content.
  • Familiarity with different marketing strategies, content funnels, and how to write copy that converts.
