About the position

The Associate Communications Representative position at National Interstate Insurance is part of the Graduate Development Program, designed for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in communications within the insurance industry. This role involves assisting in the creation and distribution of various communication materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards, and supporting marketing initiatives. The position is hybrid, based in Richfield, Ohio, and offers opportunities for professional development and networking within the company.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, preparing, and writing articles for internal and/or external communications.
• Ensure communications are appropriate, accurate, and grammatically correct.
• Assist in confirming and/or reviewing artwork, logos, layout, and visual brand.
• Distribute materials via multiple media, ensuring compliance with procedures and corporate identity.
• Identify and document customer objectives, audience, standards, timing, budget, and distribution methods.
• Educate customers about communication review processes and procedures.
• Plan and organize activities and events for customers or employees relating to trade shows and promotions.
• Maintain company archives/libraries for communication materials.
• Route and secure appropriate approvals for communications.
• Respond to routine inquiries, requests, concerns, and complaints.
• Develop basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines pertaining to communications and marketing materials.
• Assist in social media content development and digital marketing implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related discipline.
• 0 to 3 years of related experience.
