We are seeking a skilled Operations Controller to join our team and oversee all accounting functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards, implementing efficiencies through process improvements, and enhancing existing systems. The Operations Controller will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the company, including overseeing all operational accounting functions, maintaining consistency in following GAAP principles, standardizing revenue recognition practices, and driving process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This position will supervise Regional Controllers while overseeing the Operations Accounting function.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all operational accounting functions, including project setup, invoicing, direct time and cost application, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal policies and procedures.
  • Standardize revenue recognition practices to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Implement efficiencies through process improvements and automation.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Prepare and review internal financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with corporate accounting in support of external audits and reporting requirements.
  • Lead and develop an accounting team of 30, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall operations.
  • Evaluate existing systems and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in the AEC industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Deltek strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
