About the position

The Corporate Operations Manager serves as the 504 Coordinator and is responsible for the day-to-day management of various corporate activities. This role is crucial in providing equitable service to applicants, residents, staff, and clients, ensuring that the company is protected from discrimination claims. The Corporate Operations Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Administration and will play a key role in maintaining compliance with fair housing laws and regulations. In this position, the manager will effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders, including applicants, residents, staff, agencies, and advocates. They will review and approve or deny housing-related reasonable accommodation and modification requests, as well as VAWA requests, within established timeframes. Additionally, the manager will coordinate prevention efforts to avoid Section 504 and fair housing complaints, ensuring adherence to non-discrimination policies and procedures. The Corporate Operations Manager will also be responsible for managing Yardi Screening setup and policy allocation, providing training for new hires on relevant policies, and maintaining positive relations with fair housing agencies. They will document all interactions related to reasonable accommodation requests and ensure timely completion of customer service requests. The role may require corporate office coverage on assigned days and during absences, and the manager will perform other related duties as assigned. This position requires a strong ability to make decisions, manage problems, and work independently while also being a collaborative team member. The manager must be familiar with federal regulations and state landlord-tenant laws, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse backgrounds. The work environment is primarily office-based, with the possibility of remote work if not local to Boise, ID or Billings, MT, and a flexible schedule may be available after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with applicants, residents, staff, agencies, and advocates.
  • Review and approve or deny housing-related reasonable accommodation/modification and VAWA requests within established timeframes.
  • Review and approve or deny housing criminal appeals within established timeframes.
  • Coordinate prevention efforts to avoid Section 504 and fair housing complaints.
  • Monitor adherence to non-discrimination, Section 504, and fair housing policies and procedures.
  • Promptly report fair housing compliance concerns to appropriate supervisors.
  • Maintain positive relations with fair housing agencies and advocates.
  • Document all interactions related to reasonable accommodation/modification, VAWA requests, and criminal appeals within established timeframes.
  • Manage Yardi Screening setup and screening policy allocation by property/program type.
  • Serve as a resource for staff questions and report issues related to Yardi Screening.
  • Provide new hire training on reasonable accommodation/modification, VAWA, criminal appeals policies and processes, and Yardi Screening.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local fair housing laws and regulations.
  • Manage position relevant customer service requests and ensure timely and satisfactory completion.
  • Manage SAM entity setup and renewals.
  • Responsible for specific transition tasks when onboarding/offboarding properties under management.
  • Provide corporate office coverage on assigned days and during absences.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; training in property management, real estate management, Section 504, fair housing, and/or an associate degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of property management, hospitality, office management, or administrative experience; professional training may substitute for experience.
  • Ability to effectively make decisions and manage and solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use a computer for utilizing property management software, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and web browsing.
  • Ability to write in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the corporate team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to monitor, become familiar with, and implement changes in federal regulations and state landlord-tenant laws.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $24-$29
