About the position

CASIO AMERICA INC. has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Paralegal at our US Headquarters in Northern NJ. This role will liaise between the business stakeholders and outside counsel to address corporate legal matters and inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to issues in-house and utilize outside counsel to address non-routine or recurring legal issues.
  • Address inquiries related to e-commerce and data privacy, including compliance with required disclosures on direct-to-consumer sales and state privacy law requirements.
  • Address inquiries regarding the amendment of contracts and legal obligations of the company's distributors and dealers.
  • Organize contracts with the company's distributors, dealers, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Respond to inquiries related to antitrust compliance and the company's distribution of its products.
  • Address inquiries regarding trademark compliance and checking, including use of taglines and proposed trademarks.
  • Respond to marketing compliance inquiries, including truth in labeling and advertising issues.
  • Advise on compliance with Consumer Product Safety Commission inquiries and related laws.
  • Respond to inquiries related to warranty application and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate advice regarding compliance with FDA labeling and marketing requirements for medical products.
  • Address product-specific issues such as data protection and marketing concerns for minors, copyright, and licensing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with US customs regulations and cooperate with audits related to foreign manufacture and importation.
  • Address legal issues referred from the Human Resources department, including employee accommodation requests and visa issues.
  • Oversee legal training conducted by outside counsel for the company's employees.

Requirements

  • At least 7-10 years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal
  • Paralegal Certification
  • Excellent client facing skills
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder and attorney relationships
  • Highly adaptable to changing client needs
  • Strong communication and problem resolution skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
