About the position

Major, Lindsey & Africa's Interim Legal Talent group is seeking a Temp-to-Perm Corporate Paralegal to join a prestigious financial services firm, a global hedge fund based in New York City. This role is ideal for an experienced paralegal who is career-focused and possesses a strong background in corporate finance. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time, five days a week, in the New York City office, contributing to a dynamic legal team. The position offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, bonuses, and the opportunity for 401k matching and other health benefits after a brief temporary period. The Corporate Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting the legal department's various needs, including filings and entity formation, document and data management, and the entity management process. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience, ideally with a combination of law firm and in-house experience in corporate finance and governance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work autonomously while also thriving in a team environment. The role demands agility and a proactive approach to improving processes within the legal framework of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various legal department needs including filings and entity formation.
  • Assist with document and data management.
  • Assist with the entity management process.
  • Prepare various regulatory filings and corporate governance matters.
  • Coordinate board and committee meetings, draft and post board materials, and maintain books and records.
  • Support the deal closing processes including obtaining necessary signatures and compiling closing binders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate finance and governance, with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with preparing various regulatory filings and corporate governance matters.
  • Experience with the deal closing processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in corporate governance, including BDCs and board diligence.
  • Ability to work autonomously and think outside the box.
