About the position

The Corporate Patient Access Manager at University Health is a leadership role responsible for ensuring operational excellence and consistency across the organization. This position provides strategic direction to supervisors in Acute Care Patient Access Departments, oversees the development and management of training programs, and drives change management initiatives to enhance departmental performance. The manager also monitors quality assurance programs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure high-quality standards and reduce error rates, while collaborating with leadership to implement process improvements and research best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational excellence and consistency across the organization.
  • Provide strategic direction to supervisors in Acute Care Patient Access Departments.
  • Develop, design, administer, and manage comprehensive training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development.
  • Drive change management initiatives to enhance departmental performance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and liaison between supervisory staff and senior leadership.
  • Oversee the quality assurance program, including auditing and monitoring KPIs such as quality, customer service, and productivity.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure high-quality standards and reduce error rates.
  • Seek opportunities for system or automation-driven efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with leadership in acute care Patient Access and clinical areas to enhance departmental results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Two years' experience as a Patient Access Coordinator or in process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and supervise others.
  • Experience with change management and facilitation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent presentation skills with solid communication capabilities, both oral and written.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities and ability to work cross-functionally with other leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with Lean Six Sigma methodology.
