About the position

The Payroll Analyst at Prime Healthcare will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing a variety of payroll activities within the organization. This position is essential for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of payroll processes, which are vital for the smooth operation of the healthcare system. The Payroll Analyst will conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify and resolve any payroll system issues that may arise, ensuring that all payroll activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with established guidelines. In addition to managing payroll processes, the Payroll Analyst will be responsible for maintaining payroll system audits on a monthly, quarterly, or as-needed basis. This includes preparing for and assisting with external payroll audits, which are critical for maintaining the integrity of the payroll system. The role may also involve implementing payroll processes for new acquisitions and staying informed about relevant laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll procedures. The Payroll Analyst will need to be proactive in researching and understanding these regulations to ensure compliance and best practices are followed. Overall, this position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks effectively while ensuring that payroll operations align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements. The Payroll Analyst will be a key member of the corporate team, contributing to the overall success of Prime Healthcare by ensuring that employees are compensated accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of payroll activities ensuring accuracy and compliance of payroll processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify payroll systems problems/issues.
  • Maintain payroll systems audit monthly, quarterly, or as required.
  • Assist with external payroll audit requests as needed.
  • Implement payroll processes for current or new acquisitions.
  • Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Hospital Payroll experience.
  • General accounting background.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel or equivalent.
  • Experience with JBDev/Kronos or similar timekeeping system.
  • Some knowledge of ADP preferred.
  • Knowledge of Wage and Hour Guidelines and Healthcare pay practices.
  • Knowledge of payroll dictionary set up.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll taxes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with audits for 401k, DOL, W/C preferred.
  • Multi-state knowledge of payroll laws preferred.
  • Some knowledge of ADP preferred.
  • Experience with union collective bargaining agreements and protocols preferred.
