About the position

The Corporate Payroll Specialist at Duraflame, Inc. is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and reporting. This role involves a variety of accounting activities with a strong focus on analysis, compliance with tax laws, and maintaining confidentiality of payroll information.

Responsibilities

  • Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information each pay period.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, and other deductions.
  • Process new employees and terminations.
  • Provide information to employees on payroll matters such as wage garnishments and verification of employment.
  • Process and issue employee paychecks and deliver them to employees.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and submit them to appropriate departments.
  • Review leave time to ensure accrual balances are accurate and provide monthly reports.
  • Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
  • Review quarterly/annual tax reports for accuracy.
  • Process and issue W-2 and 1095C forms to employees.
  • Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform verifications of employment.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Multi-state payroll experience with at least 2-3 years in automated cloud-based payroll processing systems such as Paychex Flex or ADP Workforce Now.
  • Solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro/Reader.
  • Strong math skills and ability to use a calculator.
  • Strong organizational skills and a team player.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
