About the position

The Principal Solutions Architect is a key member of the Information Technology team at Glacier Bancorp, responsible for the technical design and implementation of strategic projects aimed at enhancing the bank's online and in-branch deposit account and loan origination services platform. This role requires strong technical expertise in banking systems, particularly the Temenos platform, and involves close collaboration with product managers and technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The position is highly visible and has a direct impact on the organization and its customers, focusing on continuous improvement and alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of strategic projects for the Temenos platform.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements for the development team.
• Drive continuous improvement and technical integration across teams.
• Maximize the value delivered by the technical team and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Collaborate with functional leaders and subject matter experts to develop solutions that support strategic business needs.
• Provide expertise and guidance on system architecture and technical solutions.
• Establish technical expertise and teach the business domain and design of the code base to other staff.
• Lead a development team in maintaining a healthy product backlog and participating in agile ceremonies.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex problems and serve as an escalation point for issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field.
• 5 years of experience in bank or financial software development and/or system administration.
• 3 years of experience developing and executing product roadmaps and managing risks and dependencies.
• Extensive experience in business requirement gathering and implementation.
• Experience working with IT and Development teams to deliver solutions in a complex environment.
• Strong understanding of technology to collaborate with internal and external partners.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Temenos or related cloud-based banking software.
• Knowledge of ITIL service delivery and management frameworks.
• Experience leading teams with external resources such as vendors and consultants.
