About the position

Fox Rothschild LLP is seeking a Corporate (Privacy and Data Security) Associate to join its Corporate Department. This role is open to candidates in any of the firm's 30 offices and requires expertise in federal, state, and international data privacy laws. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advising clients on compliance with privacy regulations and managing data security issues.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and international data privacy laws.
• Assist in data incident response and management.
• Provide guidance on new and upcoming privacy laws such as CPRA, SHIELD Act, VA CDPA, CO CPA, and GDPR.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents related to privacy and data security.
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement data protection strategies.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
• Must be licensed to practice in the state where the office resides.
• Three to five years of experience in privacy and data security law.
• Strong academic record and excellent writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance.
• Understanding of cybersecurity threats companies face.
