About the position

The Corporate Purchasing Specialist Administrator at Nifco America, Corp. is responsible for supporting and executing procurement strategies within the corporate purchasing group. This role involves working closely with the Corporate Purchasing Manager on various purchasing projects and administrative tasks, while building strong relationships with internal departments, customers, and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute procurement strategies developed within the corporate purchasing group.
  • Work directly with the Corporate Purchasing Manager on purchasing projects and administrative duties.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and customers as well as external supplier partners.
  • Interface with and report to the Corporate Purchasing Manager as requested.
  • Work on supply chain mapping and upload data to customer portals.
  • Respond to sales inquiries as required.
  • Collaborate with the Capacity group to ensure outsource suppliers have sufficient capacity to run required products.
  • Gather data from the supply base, review, and present findings.
  • Manage, analyze, and draw conclusions from large amounts of data.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events.
  • Schedule travel arrangements as needed.
  • Enter data into the ERP system and complete part set-ups.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or 1-2 years of business administrative experience.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze capacity to support the outsourcing strategy.
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes and components is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office background.
  • Experience with business intelligence software such as Power BI is a positive.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Self-starter, high-energy individual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
  • Negotiation experience (1 year preferred).
  • Purchasing experience (1 year preferred).
