The Corporate Purchasing Systems Manager at Berry Global, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for the development, streamlining, and support of key departmental systems to ensure that applications meet departmental expectations. This position plays a crucial part in aligning departmental activities with corporate strategic plans and objectives. The manager will be tasked with translating department digitization and technology strategies into actionable solutions, guiding implementation teams, and ensuring that justification metrics are achieved. This involves a comprehensive understanding of the purchasing perspective, particularly in relation to business systems such as JD Edwards (JDE), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Microsoft Power Apps. In addition to supporting business systems, the manager will also be responsible for enhancing business intelligence (BI) initiatives and implementing improvements to various departmental reports, including Purchase Analysis (PA) reports. This includes report design, setup, validation, and publication to facilitate improved ordering decisions. The role requires triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues promptly, as well as managing the raw material item request database. The manager will review and approve access requests for multiple applications to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and data security protocols. A deep understanding of departmental goals and objectives is essential, as the manager will define and implement appropriate sourcing metrics, measurements, and reporting. Ensuring full utilization of system capabilities and reporting tools is a key responsibility, along with providing guidance to direct reports to ensure that departmental and company objectives are prioritized in decision-making processes.
