About the position
The Corporate Rotating Equipment Engineer position is a lead engineering role focused on maintenance and reliability for fixed and rotating equipment at a chemical plant. The engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing reliability strategies, managing maintenance activities, and ensuring optimal asset care to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Improve/develop a reliability strategy based on business needs, including identification of critical spare equipment/parts and their inventory parameters.
- Enhance the preventive maintenance (PM) program and develop an asset care plan.
- Manage all areas of mechanical equipment related maintenance not covered by the MI program.
- Coordinate plant changes to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), yields, reliability, process quality, and preventive maintenance.
- Analyze maintenance costs and repair frequencies to identify bad actors and develop improvement measures.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams in Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Prepare monthly reports summarizing the status of major maintenance and reliability activities and ongoing capital projects.
- Execute maintenance work orders, ensuring quality metrics are met and operators are entering work orders in JDE for non-optimal issues.
- Lead and coordinate RCA investigations for bad actors and significant reliability incidents, assigning leaders and resources.
Requirements
- BS Engineering degree with 5+ years of experience as a Reliability/Maintenance Engineer in a PSM regulated chemical plant.
- Solid technical knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance, mechanical integrity, and asset care/OEE.
- Extensive experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma, and CMMS programs.
- Ability to work now and in the future without sponsorship.
