As the Corporate Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst, your work will provide valuable insights to our Senior Leaders that will directly impact Caterpillar's business, strategy and growth. This individual's primary responsibility will be to prepare timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting that details Caterpillar financial performance, mainly over period costs (period manufacturing and SG&A/R D costs) and certain elements of employee compensation. Additional responsibilities include partnering across the enterprise to support key projects related to business unit methodology and Global Finance strategy initiatives, including implementation of a new enterprise financial reporting and ERP system. Responsibilities

  • Prepare key quarter-end charts and support review of all externally communicated financial reports
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards
  • Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results, including PowerBI
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes
  • Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, including finance, accounting, commercial and business divisions
  • Lead monthly enterprise period cost analysis, support discussions with senior leaders on business results and demonstrate decision-making skills and ownership of results

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
