About the position

As a Corporate Trainer at Cornerstone Building Brands, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our employees. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver comprehensive training programs that are designed to foster employee growth, improve job performance, and support the overall organizational goals. This position is crucial in ensuring that our workforce is equipped with the necessary tools and capabilities to excel in their roles and contribute to the long-term success of the company. In this hybrid role based out of Cary, NC, you will be expected to conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels, both in person and virtually. You will facilitate training that covers both soft and hard skills, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures to ensure effective learning transfer. Additionally, you will assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with employees to tailor programs that align with the company's strategic goals and industry best practices. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. You will also coordinate logistics for training sessions, maintain records of training activities, and prepare reports on training outcomes. Your efforts will directly contribute to building a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that can meet the challenges of our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels both in person and virtually.
  • Facilitate employee training on both soft and hard skills for all levels of personnel.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and formats to ensure effective learning transfer.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with employees.
  • Support the design and development of engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning and manuals.
  • Ensure training programs are aligned with the company's strategic goals and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling and material preparation.
  • Maintain records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes.
  • Prepare and present reports on training activities and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience facilitating employee training on both soft and hard skills.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering effective training programs.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in using e-learning software, learning management systems (LMS), and other training techniques.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong emotional intelligence.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in training and development (e.g. CPTD, ATD) is a plus.
