About the position

The Central Training Coordinator is responsible for overseeing training activities for all HS Employees. This role involves designing and conducting training programs, analyzing training needs, and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance both individual and organizational performance. The coordinator will collaborate with Human Resources and Production to ensure that all employees receive adequate training throughout their employment lifecycle at Harrison Steel.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain an effective learning management system.
  • Develop training material, instructional design, and tools for effective knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained, reviewing OJT and Work Contract performance.
  • Deliver a variety of training to site population and support department needs.
  • Design and deliver science behind process learning content.
  • Participate in operational area meetings to ensure adherence to training strategies.
  • Coordinate and plan all employee training including continuous improvement and recertifications.
  • Design and deliver new hire training for effective onboarding.
  • Communicate employee learning needs to department managers.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in operational tasks for improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver trainer activities for employee certification.
  • Develop evaluation methods to measure training effectiveness.
  • Maintain technical training records of all personnel.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to assess departmental needs.
  • Create SOPs and various Training Manuals.
  • Collaborate with line teams to develop and review OJT deliverables.
  • Assist with various HR activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Associates Degree with established experience.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in preparing and developing presentations.
  • Ability to write effective communications, procedures, and training modules.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of leading teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of corporate, local, state, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
