This role serves as a Senior Digital Product Manager for New York Life's digital experience. This role has accountability for creating the digital strategy that brings to life new capabilities and products in a coherent and unified user experience, and in a way that can set NYL up to reach its performance goals around agent productivity, agent retention, and sales growth. This role will work cross-functionally to articulate and implement a strategy, overseeing a series of high profile, digital initiatives aimed at delivering an agreed-upon set of business outcomes/results. The strategy laid out will be evaluated based on its ability to drive Agency's productivity (case rate) and sales goals (volume, products per household) for advanced agents, as well as overall end user satisfaction. In addition to working with the end users, the role will work closely with business counterparts in Recruiting & Development, Sales, Service, Eagle Investment Advisory, NYLIFE Securities, Life and other products, as well as Digital, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Integration Services, Technology and others. The candidate should have strong, in-depth knowledge of business-to-business sales, financial services, insurance, investments, as well as a comfortable familiarity with technological development and industry-leading enterprise digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop vision and digital strategy for end-to-end digital experiences and business processes to drive effective outcomes, empowering our agents to attract, serve and retain clients.
  • Create and drive a portfolio of high profile, cross-functional digital projects to deliver on core elements of the digital strategy.
  • Articulate business problems, gather evidence from users and outside sources, clarify the potential solutions with assumptions, guiding principles, strategic connections.
  • Perform research to understand the current state, map out happy and unhappy user journeys, conduct user research and feedback engagement.
  • Work in partnership with User Experience Design Leads to create solution prototypes that are then used to solicit additional feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Owner team and Technology partners to ensure high-quality, efficient execution of key initiatives in a scaled agile delivery framework.
  • Serve as primary evangelist of digital capabilities with internal, field, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in either a technical field (Business/Computer Science/IT or related) or design-related discipline (e.g., industrial design, user-centered design, visual design, design strategy, design management, human factors, psychology, human-computer interaction, etc.)
  • 10+ years of industry related experience, 5 of which should relate to product management, design, or business-facing product development.
  • Deep subject matter expertise with SFDC ecosystem of solutions preferred.
  • Deep experience in insurance products, asset management or wealth management a plus.
  • Very strong at strategic thinking: Develop vision and digital strategy for one or more agent practice areas.
  • Very strong in front of user, stakeholder, and business executive audiences: Serve as key evangelist for our digital properties and overall agent digital strategy across different business teams and with key agent user groups.
  • Fluency in technical delivery, including scaled agile and PM tools like Jira, a plus.
  • Very strong organization and collaboration skills.
