About the position

The Corps Mission Associate at The Salvation Army serves as an evangelist, focusing on spiritual regeneration and outreach within the community. This role involves planning and implementing worship and outreach programs, particularly targeting youth ministries, and assisting in the development of corps members for mission work. The position is integral to promoting membership in the church and addressing local community needs through various programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an evangelist through the proclamation of Jesus Christ.
• Assist Corps Officer and Program Coordinator in planning and implementing worship and outreach programs.
• Plan, develop, prepare, and lead specific youth ministries programs.
• Lead or assist with regular meetings for Adventure Corps.
• Prepare and coordinate Christian program materials and newsletters.
• Assist in Sunday School teacher development.
• Partner with Corps Officer(s) in developing evangelical mission outreach and growth.
• Assess local community needs and advise Corps Officer of findings.
• Identify specific areas to target for outreach growth.
• Encourage and help train corps members for mission.
• Develop a corps mission team where possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Three years' experience performing mission work or participating in program development for a church or corps.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
