About the position
The Correctional Dentist at Willacy Unit provides essential dental care services to the offender population within a correctional facility. This role operates under the supervision of the Cluster Dental Director and requires adherence to established healthcare policies and procedures. The position may involve providing services across multiple facilities, emphasizing the importance of independent judgment in clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Perform general direct dental care services for the offender population.
- Adhere to internal controls and reporting structures established for the department.
- Contribute to the success of the UTMB Correctional Managed Care operation.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Texas.
- Current registration of license to practice dentistry in Texas.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) controlled substance registration certificate.
- Current BLS-HP certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Two (2) years minimum general clinical practice preferred.
