Responsibilities
- Supervise inmates and maintain order within the facility.
- Enforce rules and regulations to ensure safety and security.
- Conduct searches of inmates and their living areas for contraband.
- Provide first aid and CPR to inmates as needed.
- Maintain professional composure in challenging situations.
- Complete required training and adhere to departmental policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to meet the minimum standards of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).
- Willingness to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Nice-to-haves
- One year of full-time experience as a uniformed officer in a correctional setting.
- Completion of at least an associate's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
