Correctional Officer

About the position

The Correctional Officer position involves overseeing and monitoring the activities of inmates in various areas within a correctional facility. This role is crucial for maintaining safety and order, ensuring that all procedures are followed, and responding to emergencies as needed. The position requires working in shifts, including both day and night hours, and offers training for those without prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor the activities of inmates in living areas, recreation activity areas, dining areas, and visitation.
• Coordinate and monitor inmate movements.
• Conduct counts of inmates.
• Provide emergency response as needed.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Work as a team to coordinate activities with fellow officers and supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Valid Driver's license required.
• No felony convictions.
• Background check and drug screen will be conducted.
• No prior experience required as training will be provided.

Benefits

• Permanent, full-time position with a pay rate of $22 per hour.
