About the position

The Corrections Case Manager at Mount Olive Correctional Facility plays a crucial role in providing services to inmates within a designated caseload. This position involves developing treatment programs, conducting assessments, and facilitating rehabilitation efforts while ensuring security and safety within the facility. The role requires close interaction with inmates, including counseling and support, as well as participation in probation and parole hearings.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to assigned caseload of inmates.
• Develop inmate treatment programs and assess inmate needs.
• Test and classify inmates based on their rehabilitation requirements.
• Testify at probation and parole hearings as needed.
• Counsel inmates to support their rehabilitation efforts.
• Control inmate movement and ensure security within the facility.
• Act as a role model for inmates and promote positive behavior.
• Compile and analyze information regarding inmates' criminal involvement.
• Assist with security posts as required.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, criminology, social work, or a related field.
• Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in inmate counseling, security, or treatment in a correctional setting, or as a probation and parole officer, mental health counselor, or social worker.
• Experience in corrections programming or treatment may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
• A Master's Degree in criminal justice, corrections, social work, or a related behavioral science field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Benefits

• Annual base building pay differential of $250 after completing one year of service.
• $5,000 added to the minimum starting rate of pay for classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility.
