Corrections Specialist 3- Reentry Navigator

About the position

The Corrections Specialist 3 - Reentry Navigator position at the Washington Department of Corrections is a full-time role focused on supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. This position is integral to the Reentry Division, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement Individual Reentry Plans (IRPs) that address the needs of justice-involved individuals. The role emphasizes reducing recidivism and enhancing public safety through effective reentry navigation services, resource coordination, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate Reentry Team Meetings (RTM) to discuss individualized needs and develop Individual Reentry Plans (IRPs).
• Assist individuals in completing IRPs and Essential Needs Checklists, providing navigation support for resources post-release.
• Identify and connect individuals with community-based resources and programs that address their reentry needs.
• Maintain regular communication with participants through various means to support their reentry process.
• Collect and track data related to reentry outcomes, including IRP completion and participant engagement in programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and 5 years' experience providing reentry/transition support to justice-involved population, or AA degree and 4 years' experience, or Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience, or Master's degree and 2 years' experience.
• Experience working with system- and community-based resources for reentry support.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves
