About The Position

The Multnomah County Department of Community Justice is seeking motivated and experienced Corrections Technicians to join the Adult Services Division. This role is crucial for creating a safer community and involves working with individuals on probation or post-prison supervision, particularly those experiencing housing instability or mental health issues. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage competing tasks in a self-directed environment. Corrections Technicians will work in various units, including the Stabilization and Readiness Program, Recognizance Unit, and PreTrial Services Program, each with specific responsibilities related to client monitoring, compliance, and support.

Requirements

  • Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent.
  • Two years of relevant experience in public service, service organizations, or public safety.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of six months experience working with adult criminal justice clients or in a corrections setting.
  • Experience using law enforcement databases.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing public records.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining and entering criminal information using computer data systems.
  • Preparing and submitting accurate drafts, affidavits, reports, and/or documents for court and other purposes.
  • Monitoring client program compliance.
  • Interviewing individuals who have been arrested to gather necessary information for custody status.
  • Referring clients to community resources.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and files.
  • Making court appearances when required.
