Subsea7 is seeking a Corrosion Engineer specializing in Cathodic Protection to join our Materials Team in Houston. The successful candidate will provide technical support to various Subsea Projects and ensure adherence to good engineering practices. This role involves planning, producing, and revising Subsea 7 specifications and related technical documents that cover corrosion mitigation aspects associated with the construction and installation of subsea structures and pipeline systems. The engineer will also review client-generated specifications and related documents regarding Cathodic Protection, providing technical qualifications as required to support project activities. The Corrosion Engineer will be responsible for developing a CP Design Philosophy for tenders and subsequently establishing and reporting project design and associated work scopes. This includes approving contractor, subcontractor, and vendor procedures for Anode Manufacture and installation. The role requires providing specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines within Subsea7, ensuring a sound working knowledge of recognized industry codes and standards relevant to corrosion and CP Design, such as ISO 15589, BS EN 12474, and DNV RP B401, among others. The engineer will also be expected to communicate effectively with other disciplines and attend sites when applicable to ensure that all Subsea 7 requirements are met and that activities are carried out safely and efficiently. Additionally, the successful candidate will mentor junior engineers within the discipline, actively share knowledge, capture lessons learned, and apply engineering standards. Participation in risk assessments and mitigation processes is also a key responsibility. The engineer should be willing to cross-train to support coating activities as needed.
