Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform testing and field surveys for corrosion and corrosion protection systems.
  • Evaluate test results and install cathodic protection systems on various structures.
  • Conduct field surveys to gather data for evaluation of corrosion and corrosion control.
  • Execute pipeline and tank integrity testing.
  • Perform testing of corrosion prevention systems including cathodic protection, protective coatings, AC/DC interference, and corrosion monitoring.
  • Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements, and rectifier data.
  • Diagnose and develop recommended remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations.
  • Write survey reports for review by an engineer.
  • Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings.
  • Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent addition of detail.
  • Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables.
  • Assemble and analyze data for preparation of final client report including recommendations.
  • Prepare survey reports and final job reports for review.
  • Assist manager in appraising employee performance and related matters.
  • Act as direct interface with customer as needed.
  • Assist in cost estimation and detailed proposal.

Requirements

  • AMPP / NACE CP Technologist (CP III), CIP II or working towards them.
  • 7 years of corrosion control experience.
  • Must have valid Driver's License.
  • Must have strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team and internal customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint with ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to travel overnight and work overtime as needed.
