About the position

The Cosmetic Medical Assistant at Platinum Dermatology Partners will support a busy dermatology and cosmetic practice by assisting with various pre and post-procedure tasks. This role is essential in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their treatment process.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre and post-procedure dermatology and cosmetic treatments, including skin cancer screenings, acne treatments, biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic injectables.
• Escort patients to and from the exam room and help them prepare for exams.
• Enter medical histories and prescriptions into EMR systems.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures to provide quality care to patients.
• Scribe office visits and document all medical instructions given to patients.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Educate patients and respond to their questions in the office or on the phone as needed.
• Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a medical office is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is necessary.
• Experience with EMR systems is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
• Professional appearance and mannerisms are expected.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Prior dermatology and cosmetic experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of cosmetic products, procedures, and terminology is a plus.
