Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and industry best practices.
- Educate students on various cosmetology techniques including hair styling, hair extensions, barbering, and hair threading.
- Conduct classroom instruction that encourages student participation and engagement in learning activities.
- Assess student performance through practical demonstrations, written tests, and evaluations to ensure competency in skills taught.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment that promotes safety and professionalism.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in cosmetology to provide current information to students.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students as they develop their skills and prepare for careers in the beauty industry.
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology instructor license as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience in the cosmetology field with expertise in hair styling and barbering.
- Strong lesson planning skills with the ability to create engaging educational content.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that supports student growth and success.
