About the position
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cosmetology Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various cosmetology techniques and a desire to educate and inspire future professionals in the beauty industry. As a Cosmetology Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, demonstrating techniques, and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state regulations and industry standards.
- Teach a variety of cosmetology subjects including hair styling, hair coloring, makeup application, and skin care techniques.
- Assess student performance through practical evaluations and written tests to ensure understanding of course material.
- Provide individualized support and mentorship to students to enhance their skills and confidence in the field.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment that promotes safety and professionalism.
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and best practices to provide relevant education to students.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Indiana Cosmetology license with successful career experience in the industry.
- Possess a current Indiana Cosmetology Instructor license or have the ability to complete 1000 hours of education in an Indiana Cosmetology instructional facility.
- Possess the ability to develop rapport and demonstrate professionalism with high school students, parents, staff, and community.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative environment of education professionals to create the best career ready skills for our students.
- Be willing to continually strive to build a skill set that meets the needs of our students, educational partners, and potential employers.
