Cosmetology Instructor

About the position

The Cosmetology Instructor at Northwest College School of Beauty is responsible for educating and mentoring students in various aspects of cosmetology, including hair design, esthetics, and nail technology. This role involves both classroom instruction and practical hands-on training, ensuring that students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the beauty industry. Instructors will also stay updated on industry trends and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students in the classroom and on the salon floor.
• Provide information on the latest trends in the industry.
• Plan and develop various student learning activities applicable to hands-on lab work.
• Teach academic theory and assess the progress of students regularly.
• Evaluate students in attaining goals and objectives.
• Regularly oversee student testing and maintain attendance and grade records.
• Maintain a clean and organized salon floor and workstations.
• Ensure professionalism is maintained throughout the campus.

Requirements

• Current and active cosmetology licenses in a combination of Hair Design, Nail Technology, and/or Esthetics.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a salon or cosmetology program.
• Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in multiple aspects of cosmetology education.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
