About the position

The Cost Accountant II position at Fechheimer Brothers involves ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial records. The role focuses on performing cost accounting analyses, assisting in inventory management, and supporting the pricing department with cost estimates. This position is essential for maintaining financial integrity and supporting the company's operational goals through effective budgeting and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor new product development and gather cost information
• Provide pricing department with cost estimates for bids
• Update annual standard costs
• Prepare monthly production and purchase price variance reporting
• Identify discrepancies in product cost for evaluation
• Prepare required government contract production reporting
• Perform various month-end and year-end closing tasks
• Assist with US Census and other government reporting
• Assist with periodic physical inventory compilation and variance analysis
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Microsoft D365 ERP experience is a plus
• Atlas Software & SQL experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as accounting software
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of accounting procedures
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft D365 ERP
• Familiarity with Atlas Software & SQL
