About the position
Ampal, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join the Finance Department. This newly created position focuses on performing cost analyses and implementing the new ERP software to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be motivated and detail-oriented, contributing to the financial accuracy and reporting of the company.
Responsibilities
- Review daily health reports and post daily production.
- Collaborate with operations to explain and correct production reporting.
- Become a subject matter expert in ERP cost accounting modules.
- Perform variance reporting and explain significant variances to standard.
- Assist in developing and performing production KPI reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including annual physical inventory.
- Conduct account reconciliations from inventory accounts.
- Provide general accounting cross-training to support the department.
- Assist in various corporate registration reporting and projects as needed.
Requirements
- Cost accounting background in a standard cost environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with automated ERP software systems; IQMS experience is a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and functional in Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
