About the position
This position is part of the Global Agriculture Controllership team at the J.R. Simplot Company, focusing on Costing and Inventory Valuation activities. The role involves analyzing and monitoring cost and inventory transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting related to seed sales and other business processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed monthly review of assigned Sales Area(s)
- Monitor controls over inventory costing and coordinate resolution of identified variances
- Complete accounting activities for month end close
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and prepare journal entries as required
- Collaborate closely with business operations, FP&A, and other financial professionals
- Navigate multiple ERP systems to complete tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting from a 4-year college or university
- 1-3+ years of related experience and/or training
- Basic understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles
- Experience with JDE, Agvance, Power BI, Axiom or SAP preferred
