About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing costs associated with the company's operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP, and proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports to identify trends and variances.
• Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP in all financial reporting and accounting practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for cost analysis and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
• Maintain accurate records of debits and credits related to cost accounts.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding cost-related inquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience with account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial analysis.
• Previous experience in public accounting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
