The Cost Accountant position is a key role within a large multinational manufacturer in the Consumer Package Goods sector. This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional looking to advance their career in a stable and growing company. The Cost Accountant will work closely with the leadership team, focusing on cost reporting, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the close process. Responsibilities
- Prepare reports related to costs, inventory, net realizable value, and ad hoc reports.
- Identify, lead, and execute continuous improvement initiatives to ensure close process efficiency.
- Partner with controllers and BU finance leaders to drive monthly close and analyze monthly costing trends.
- Provide information to internal and external auditor requests.
- Participate in or lead cross-functional teams on small to medium special projects.
- Exercise professional judgment in making recommendations for new accounts and revisions in the account structure.
- Make day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions.
- Understand and design complex accounting processes, policies, and procedures.
- Train and develop other accountants.
- Provide specialized accounting treatment and reporting for different internal operations or divisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience, ideally in the manufacturing or CPG industry
- Experience with SAP or large ERP systems
