About the position

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Manager with extensive experience in manufacturing and standard cost accounting. This role is crucial for enhancing accounting procedures and improving financial performance within the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost audits, budget preparation, and cost variance analysis, along with excellent leadership skills to manage a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Directing and performing cost audits for all company's manufacturing products and services.
• Establishing standard costs and updating them as appropriate.
• Managing the standard cost system, preparing budgets and performing cost variance analysis.
• Reviewing operating expenses and implementing cost-saving strategies.
• Overseeing inventory to ensure proper valuation and categorization.
• Coordinating with various departmental heads in preparing budget forecasts.
• Guiding the cost analysis process by creating and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques.
• Preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in standard cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven work experience as a Cost Accounting Manager or similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including cost accounting and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret and address financial data.
• Proficiency with accounting software and experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is necessary
• Knowledge of Crystal Reports is essential
• Proficiency in Epicor is highly desirable
• Auditing experience is necessary
• Knowledge of Budget Processes is required
• Expertise in Cost Accounting is essential
• Experience with Standard Cost Accounting is a must.
