About the position

The Cost Analyst - Intermediate position is responsible for maintaining project cost control data files, processing project timesheets, and ensuring the accuracy of submitted invoices. This role requires effective communication with various departments and stakeholders to facilitate accurate reporting and enhance project decision-making. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence three days a week, and is focused on supporting project controls and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Establish lines of communications with various departments to integrate information for accurate reporting.
• Utilize effective communication processes to disseminate relevant and timely cost information to enhance project decision making.
• Communicate with suppliers, project staff, and other stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies or other cost tracking issues.
• Work with multiple departments to monitor, share, and analyze data for more accurate project forecasting.
• Assist in annual budget development, preparation, and associated reporting.
• Assist in contract review with project staff to facilitate understanding of contract and related unit codes/cost for accurate project cost tracking and forecasting.
• Develop or assist in the development of project controls guidelines, standards, processes, job aids, and tools.
• Implement cost preventive actions.
• Perform standard project and special project cost reporting as required by project stakeholders; compile and produce cost reports as required and directed.
• Assess project stakeholders for their core and special cost reporting, cost assessment, and cost analysis needs and provide optimum communication, information, and reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma and post-secondary education.
• 8+ years of experience in cost analysis or related field.
